The Tree. Now a husk, the merest shadow of what was once its former self — a leafy Majesty soaring 50 feet into the air! Once upon a time, it's said, a hovering mechanical "Monster" appeared from behind it, just clearing a large bough 15 feet in the air, and upset a whole passel of folks, those surviving, mayhap, effected still! A husk... a shadow. No evidence of biological infestation. No bugs. No fungus. Vines don't grow up on it. It was such for me, as it happens, over three consecutive visits — with #4 coming up September next, Lord willin' and the creek don't rise! This writer suspects Joe Nickell has never even seen it. Click the picture and look up inside the tree, reader. Looks weird to me!
