The Flatwoods Monster Incident And UFO Wave Of September 12, 1952

The Flatwoods Monster Incident
And UFO Wave of September 12, 1952

by Alfred Lehmberg

Upcoming, the anniversary of the 62 year old "Flatwoods Monster" meme seems right out of the Science Fiction of the 1950s.  So?  It has its own built in "cognitive dissonance, see?"  It is wholly dismissible... if you need it to be.   Errantly, many do.

It remains that there is solid logic, abundant citation, un-stretched evidence and decided circumstance highlighting the startling actuality of even 1950s Science fiction.  It very well may be, the reader might come to find, a matter of the truly existential occurring in the real world.  Such appears to be so.

I remind everyone of two things: it is 1952, and revealing itself in the well documented activity of that year is the biggest UFO flap in United States history... "The Summer of Saucers, 1952," one, and two, a person is going to describe astonishing and unspeakable events happening to them in the language that they have... or merely be pointing back into the darkness and incoherently exclaiming, "Gaa Gaa, Gaa... ...Gaa!"  I understand there was a little of that, too.  Remains, 1952's language of its described true incidents is just going to have a 1950's SyFy flair. How can it not?

September the 12th, 1952 remains a seminal date whatever the language. Whatever it was to have occurred was documented to have occurred, and so indeed occurred, in fact. What actually occurred, exactly; however, is wholly unknown and only described, as noted, in the inadequate language of the day... but there is a lot of that language, reader. There is written language, an oral language, a language that has been video-taped or otherwise recorded that Frank Feschino has intrepidly sussed out...

Prepare yourself.  It is language making every indication that there was, indeed, an air-war wholly undeclared on ET, by us, last century but for a single directive to wage that war... were ET not to unconditionally surrender and turn themselves and their machines in to be rendered by authorities... This is an undeclared war where "being" and machine were perhaps lost to both sides.

But for Feschino all this language would have been lost.  All crazy, I know, but two things: impossibilities eliminated, what remains is likely truth, one, and two, one is directed to follow a leading evidence where it leads... not where one would have it lead.

Fact: In 1952, the restricted airspace of Washington, DC was effortlessly impinged upon, and with impunity, so often and so threateningly by UFOs... that the military was charged and duly ordered to shoot those UFOs down... where they, laughably, did not follow instructions to ground themselves for capture and arrest.  "Shoot them down" was of course the business end of our intention. Tasked?  We wanted one and would have actively sought one out.

It is logical and well supported that one such UFO, so engaged, may have been forced down for a time on the old Bailey Fisher Farm in Flatwoods, West Virginia that night.  This, reader, would be the end of the story on the whole "summer of saucers" flap of 1952 and not an isolated incident regarding an altogether "singular" or "one-off" Braxton County Monster "incident," happening exclusively on September 12, one finds. No, one finds only a first-wash and abject weirdness component in a larger system of weirdness given what'd occurred there before and since... all in a decided whole of unspeaking weirdness wholly unspeakable.  UFOs have been, are, and will be. We don't officially and with seriousness speak of them YET!

It is 62 years later, now, and during the course of Frank Feschino Jr.'s now 22 year long investigation into the Flatwoods Monster case he had proved, then, that the "Flatwoods Monster" incident was NOT an isolated incident, by any means. Yes reader, there was very much more UFO activity that day besides the well-known incident involving an encounter between a downed ET occupant and some small town residents on that farm in Flatwoods one Indian Summer the middle of last century.

Feschino introduces the witnesses...

During Feschino's due diligence investigation and while writing his stunning books, he'd combed the Country's myriad archives for relevant clues. He revealed and then compiled numerous Sept. 12, 1952 UFO reports from reliably credited, credible, and crediting sources.

Feschino also worked diligently with other researchers, archivists, historians, and librarians to find that wealth of information always contained in obscure national and regional newspaper articles and from which named newspapers had been quoting. Taken together these quotes are hugely unsettling even as they paint the overall compelling picture described: undeclared war with seeming aliens... ...Though, resist the temptation to dismiss all this out of hand, won't you, as strong as that temptation gets.  You're perhaps laughing a little too loudly a little too shrilly, eh?  Follow the data remember; besides, take heart.  My feeling is that there is more good incorporated in the affair than bad.

Back to the story, Feschino interviewed many first-hand witnesses in Braxton County, persons seeing UFOs pass overhead that day. He has audio and video recordings of these interviews providing for an astonishing evidentiary path. Additionally, being a talented, school trained and well accomplished artist, he was also able to sit down and make composite drawings of the objects these witnesses saw that night. Some of these objects were indeed seen "at close range" and flying "at tree top level"!

Feschino at a photo-doc shoot in Flatwoods...

Moreover, provoked by his appearance on many radio shows and at book signings over the years, Frank has also been provided with newspaper articles from listeners and readers who had so kindly searched their own local libraries for more information regarding these undeniably existential unidentified objects.  All of the articles gathered by Feschino indicate that a plethora of UFOs, sky objects, flying saucers, mysterious lights or so-called meteors, were unquestionably seen during that day by a mass of sincere individuals. Things get weirder, reader, stay the track.

The sheer amount of sightings occurring in the effected time period circa 9/12/52 was absolutely staggering to say the least as the reader will see up ahead! Furthermore, much of the most abundant UFO information Feschino found was actually contained in the heretofore un-sifted civilian and military reports of the September 12, 1952 Project Blue Book files! This is officiality of unassailable authority as regards the highly strange, reader. Even with Government's heavy handed and purposeful gaffs and seeming misdirections found within it, to start:

1). According to the September 12, 1952 Project Blue Book records, a large flaming UFO flew west over the Capitol and was labeled by the Project as the "well known Washington area meteor." This appears to be a conscious and deliberate misinformation.

2).The Akron Astronomy Club report, which was contained in Project Bluebook had also documented the alleged object. That report stated that this alleged "FIREBALL" (not "meteor" proper) was sighted at "Approximately 19:00 E.S.T." Noted!

3).This same report also stated the length of time for which it was sighted. The object was recorded as having a, "Duration: 5-6 seconds." Note that too, reader!

See, contrary to the Air Force's Bluebook evaluations and findings regarding this alleged "single Fireball meteor," Feschino discovered numerous wrinkles in the officially touted "authoritative account."  The official "Stuff" just didn't add up.  One plus One never sums at 25!  Watch!

See, that "duration of 5-6 seconds" was to endure for quite an unreasonable stretch in the first place... a stretch decidedly longer than 5 or 6 seconds... as the reader will see up ahead! Interesting to note: The New York Times called the Object, "The Flame Over Washington" in their article dated, September 13, 1952. It was reported by Washington witnesses that, "the blazing object moved horizontally across the sky and came awfully low." This is noted, in the second place, as decidedly unmeteor-like behavior!

Additionally, in the third place, vetted documentation discovered by Feschino actually shows us that American civilians and Military officials in the United States had reported, not meteors, but numerous UFOs to a multitude of authorities on September 12, 1952, causing quite a stir and commotion for an alleged meteor passing overhead for "5 or 6 seconds, follow?

Whatever the case, Feschino's map is very much a testament to the ludicrous assessment that such monstrous activity can be attributed to a single fireball meteor lasting for a mere 5 or 6 seconds in the sky, eh?  ...And advised UFOs are officially reported as meteors?  Thus appears so!

One such example is a military report made by an Air Force pilot flying a C-46 military aircraft.  He reported a flaming UFO passing over and in front of his plane and in a "steady dive." He stated he saw an "Unidentified aerial object directly over Greensboro, North Carolina at 7,000 feet." This same unknown object was also seen and reported by control tower personnel at Greensboro Highpoint Airport.

The pilot, a battle hardened colonel, witnessed the object along with an observing USAF Major and Captain. Hugely moved, the colonel promptly filed a, "CIRVIS" report: "Communications Instructions for Reporting Vital Intelligence Sightings."

A "JANAP, Joint-Army-Navy-Air Force publication 146 (D)" description of a CIRVIS report reads: "102. SCOPE-A. This publication is limited to the reporting of information of vital importance to the security of the United States of America and Canada and their Forces, which in the opinion of the observer requires very urgent defensive and/or investigative action by the United States or Canada." Italics mine.  Most meteors, one must agree, do not qualify as of vital importance to the security of the United States of America, Canada, and their Forces.

Now reader, buckle up for the coup de grâce. The official "Project 10073 Record Card" evaluation of this very same case, prompting a CIRVIS report filed by the Air Force colonel, remember, was recorded by Bluebook as a "Meteor"!  "Meteors," reader, don't provoke CIRVIS reports!

Figures lie and liars figure...

Conversely, additional "official" information concludes that this well observed UFO was very likely the "12 September meteor sighting throughout the east coast area." What would support this unsupported stretch by Bluebook, reader, but a desire to contribute to a cover-up? A single meteor in the sky for a few paltry seconds is not justification for the near panic and frenzy alluded to, it's appearance all over the States for many hours at different times, the official reports filed, and the fretful concern of a reporting populace...

Sometimes "fishy," reader, is a real fish!

Strangely enough, this sighting occurring directly over Greensboro in a "steady dive" at /20:00 EDT, had actually occurred at the same time the "flaming object" passed west over Washington, DC!  The "object of concern" is reported to have "moved horizontally across the sky and came awfully low."  Meteor?  I don't think so.

Moreover, how can two meteors be in two different places at the same time... when they're not anywhere at all? The short answer is they can't.

No, these objects were seeming to be two separate damaged UFOs flying over two different cities, on different flight paths and having different trajectories. More on this in a moment.  Remains, a blatant cover-up, reader, becomes increasingly obvious.

Resolved, the preceding UFO activity caused quite a kafuffle with observers. The following agencies and departments were documented as fretfully contacted in the time period alluded to with regard to sighted UFOs... not meteors:

1. The Pentagon
2. USAF Bases
3. The Air Defense Command Headquarters located at Ent AFB, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
4. The United States Navy
5. State Police Headquarters
6. Local Police Headquarters
7. Airports
8. Civil Aeronautics Administration
9. Newspaper offices
10. Government Agencies
11. The FBI

Again, meteors don't generally provoke a significant kafuffle that everyone seems to get the facts wrong on.  Curious!

Now, a result of two decades plus of impressive research, Feschino compiled all of the September 12, 1952 UFO sighting informations into categories by each State. He then began to analyze the information in each sighting and made comparisons as to similarity and differences between the UFOs in each of these determined groups. This included their locations, their shapes, their sizes, their flight characteristics, their trajectories and their time stamps where each sighting occurred. The reader sees perhaps the potential of this more focused information.

If one can account for "what" was "where," when... one can account for activity again! Feschino accomplishes just that.

A record of stunning UFO activity...

By making these comparisons, Feschino, a more than competent illustrator, had also figured out the actual number of different UFOs seen that day and could use his drawings and paintings to assist him in his work.  Then, on a huge seeing-is-believing 1:250,000 scale "Master Map," Feschino plotted the numerous sighting locations of these UFOs in flight, the locations where some landed, and the areas where some had been reported to have crashed.  See reader, by piecing together a meticulous time-line of documented events occurring that night and "connecting the dots," he formed trajectories in a real-time audit trail that could be seen! Feschino is able to discover that there were actually twenty-five different and distinct UFOs, all of which flew over ten eastern States of the US that day.

Feschino establishes a definite pattern from the data showing that four of these 25 UFOs passing over the United States that night had displayed very different characteristics than the others. These four UFOs regarded had pieces falling from them, they were exploding while in flight, they were on fire, they displayed sparkling showers of flaming detritus, all while flying erratically and seemingly in distress! Many of these sightings were made no higher than tree-top level.

Yes reader, these four UFOs were apparently damaged, as if in combat even, and most important of all, they had all made repeated crash-landings... only to take off again as they hobbled across the United States like wounded birds. To the point, reader, these damaged craft were puddle-jumping across the US trying to exit the area or avoid their harassers and pursuers: us, in other words!

Us against Them...

Combined, these four objects demonstrated that they had crash-landed a total of thirteen times in three different states: West Virginia, Tennessee and South Carolina.

Subsequently, and with the help of others, Feschino is then able to reconstruct a precise scenario of events based on the facts as to what very likely happened on that fateful date. Still, what remains so astonishing about this mapping initiative, reader, is this: were this data populated map to be a depiction of UFOs comprising their activities over a decade... it would be impressive enough. It must wholly shock if a only one year is depicted! A mere month's depiction and it becomes difficult to get your head around... a single day is simply inconceivable... but less?!

On September 12, 1952, there were actually 21-hours reported of sustained UFO activity over ten eastern states between 1:30 am. and 10:30 pm! This very demonstrable time-line tells a far different story than the short-duration "single Fireball meteor" explanation as explained by Project Blue Book. The reader perhaps can begin to see the disconnect and seeming cover-up by the extant official version... Feschino's map is very much a testament to the ludicrous assessment that such monstrous activity can be attributed to that single fireball meteor lasting for that mere 5 or 6 seconds in the sky, eh?

See, in mind numbing astonishment one discovers that, overall, the majority of the ufological activity depicted on Feschino's map is measured, not in decades, years, weeks, or even days... but in right around an hour... in and around the time of the "Flatwoods Monster" incident! Sincerely, this is where the ominous music is usually cued.

This and more occurred in under an hour...

See? These UFO sightings CANNOT be attributed to a lone Fireball meteor only "said" to have passed over Washington, DC that night at 19:00 EST for a duration of 5-6 seconds! Pause a moment, reader, to let that sink in. The official USAF explanation in no way fits the facts!  This writer will not apologize for that.

 It's not my cultural cowardice.

Meteors don't hang in the air for almost a full day, eh? We better hope they don't! Furthermore, it was documented by a commercial airline pilot who actually reported a UFO very nearly clipping the wing off his passenger plane near Wheeling, WV, that very night!

This "meteor"? It was actually one of the four seemingly damaged UFOs. ...And hold your laughter, please... pause for a moment and ask yourself: what if all this were true?

Pause to consider where the laughter actually goes upon the discovery that, in parallel with seven categories of very compelling evidence as regards UFOs in the aggregate, undeclared war is seemingly waged on unknown entities for which a provenance has not been determined (that we know)! "We" don't know if the entity proscribed is a time traveler, a social exercise, a military intelligence scenario, dead ancestors, "Agnes," or "Angus"!

See reader, the "well known Washington area meteor of 12 September" remains to appear to be but one of four damaged UFOs going down that night—I repeat again for meaningful emphasis.  This is all we can reasonably say unreasonable as that is.  Bird's, bolides, balloons, and rocket boosters seem to recuse themselves.

Something engulfed in flames passed over the Capitol at a low altitude on a western heading at about 19:00 EST. Something continued West, flew over Virginia proper, passed over West Virginia, then abruptly redirected south above the State to fly over Flatwoods, reader, where it redirected again to then finally land on the Fisher Farm 206 miles later as Feschino's maps illustrate... Such can be seen to seem so.

In short—and let's cut to the gob-smacking chase—the numerous other UFO sightings occurring that night over the ten eastern States can be attributed to two conservatively considered "Alien Search and Rescue" efforts. These are seeming efforts and initiatives made apparent by the activities of several other UFOs as witnessed and plotted on the aforementioned aeronautical MAP used by the military, remember, to interdict themselves vis a vis their distressed comrades.

This writer advises that all the aforementioned appears to this old combat aviator as a rescue initiative: rescuers descending all over the South Eastern United States in a seeming attempt to retrieve their downed craft and occupants in the Wheeling, WV and Flatwoods locations, just as I would attempt to do, and have attempted to do as a military professional in combat: with blocking actions, feints, misdirections, strategic retreats, and even a show of force once when extracting some wounded personnel from a fire base in Vietnam circa 1970. No apologies here either.

Laugh if you will but the evidence seems to have a klieg light on this series of peculiar events as happening, and from a plethora of disparate reportage initiatives, all first person, at the time! This is truly overpowering!

Note too, several east coast newspapers actually reported "meteors" and "meteor showers" over their areas as an explanation to the September 12, 1952 phenomenon. I quote some headlines here; "Flashing Meteors Scare Residents In Three State Area," also, "Fireballs Shower City Area," as well as "Balls of Fire in Pittsburgh" additionally, "Residents Over Ohio Valley Excited as Heavenly Meteor Hurls Off Bright Fragments" and "Big Meteor Flashes Over Four States."

Well reader, "It's what they must have been ... ET is frivolously impossible!"  Is it?  Again, the seven categories of evidence alluded to above would discount that.  These categories include:

1. The Historical textual documents glyphed in soot and cut into stone or otherwise writ in ancient inks on cracking vellum,
2. The extant Artistic Historical from primitives on the walls of their caves, through Middle-Age wood-cuts, to the masterpieces of the masters on rough canvas and slick gesso later on
3. The quality Anecdotal reports backed up by multiple vetted witnesses and corresponding radar
4. The genuine Photographic efforts prior to digital photography provided by Dr. Bruce Maccabee, et sig al
5. The extant Physical Traces of landing UFOs as laboriously outlined by Ted Phillips and others
6. The "wholly Personal" evidence, if you have any as I do and
7. Even the Mathematical, reader, as it is described in modern physics regarding the consequences of satisfying requirements accounting for "the formality of the actual occurrence" of something physical in this multi-verse (humanity "happened" so "others" must) but, specifically, as it is described in Probability One by Amir D. Aczel, PhD.

Alien intelligence, reader, seems a certainty!  Moreover, the evidence—entirely if ironically in concert with Fermi—is that they are here!  Pack that pipe and spark it.

On the other hand, now, other newspapers actually strayed away from the far-fetched and unsupportable "meteor" explanation in their reportage; I quote the following headlines, "Four States Bombarded by Meteor-like Objects," also, "Mystery Lights Zip Through Skies Here Stirring Mild Furor," as well as "Saucer Talk in Four States," and "Strange Lights Observed Over Four States." Curiouser and Curiouser.

One witness in West Virginia stated that one of these flaming objects, thought to be a "plane aflame," had actually landed atop a high hill between two radio transmission towers in the Wheeling, WV area, but when the State Police went to the scene, they "failed to find a plane." It had taken off! A Washington witness said, "Suddenly this thing came swooping down from the eastern skies. It looked like it was just above the treetops," and Mr. Rosenthal, a witness in Baltimore, told the press, he first saw it "swinging 'treetop' level," and said it resembled "a plane on fire."

One of my favorite reports was made by a Baltimore witness, an "Army veteran" who stated, "It was a flying saucer... the darned thing swooped down... and then up again. It seemed to follow the contour of the road."

In Virginia, a witness reported his sighting to the USAF and said, "I don't know what it was I saw and will insist on what it was NOT.  I have seen meteors, and the press will have a hard time telling me I was looking at a meteor on 9/12...This THING was being flown."  Well, there you have it. Meteors are not self-directing.

Yet despite these UFO reports and the many, many more that Feschino has discovered, numerous people still thought of and labeled these strange maneuvering objects as "meteors."  This seems official lie well inculcated as truth.

In Arcadia, Tennessee, near Kingsport, there was a "fruitless search for a wrecked plane." A "Baltimore, Sept. 13-AP" report stated, "An aerial object was reported to have struck the ground after streaking across the sky. A spokesman at Tri-cities Airport near Kingsport said the object had been identified as a meteor.  Operations personnel at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington put a similar label on it. And Naval observatory officials said reports received made it sound to them 'like a typical meteor.'"

Oh, by the way reader, and before I forget, the Tennessee object—said to be a "typical meteor"— was flying southwest before it went down in Arcadia... It had actually penetrated the "Oak Ridge National Laboratory Air Defense Identification Zone" by seventy miles before it landed!  This reader, is only 90-miles northeast of this security sensitive national laboratory for nuclear research. Furthermore, by extending the object's southwest flight path, we can see that this UFO was on a direct course toward it!!!  Now, what was up with that?

On course to Oak Ridge?

To finally smother this continued reference to meteors and flaming bolides—officially and for the record books people: there is NO record in a learned and professional astronomy of any bona fide meteoric activity that night, really, ANYWHERE!

ANYWHERE!

Provided, then, is the updated information of the plotted 116 locations—yellow stars on above maps—where witnesses sighted and reported different UFOs flying directly over the following ten eastern region States of the country. The plain red stars indicate the UFO crash landing sites of the damaged objects. The green stars in the eastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia, and western Pennsylvania areas indicate other UFO landing—presumed—search sites. The blue stars indicate airports and the red stars with silver dots are USAF bases and Naval Air Stations. The 116 sightings occurred over the following ten eastern states:

1. Delaware
2. Maryland
3. North Carolina
4. Ohio
5. Pennsylvania
6. South Carolina
7. Tennessee
8. Virginia
9. Washington D.C.
10. West Virginia

There were two additional states where UFOs were sighted on September 12, 1952:

11. California
12. Illinois

Curiously, the Project Blue Book records did not include the sightings occurring over four states; Delaware, Ohio, South Carolina or Tennessee. To date, meteoric impact pits have yet to be found in any of these areas.

Also, for a focus on the United States Air Force UFO air-war history, as effecting suspect alien, man, and machine, look for Shoot Them Down, a parallel research concentrating more on the air-war. Remember, too, as you consider the preceding: 1950s Science Fiction might very well have actually occurred!

Sincerely, very reasonable reader, given repeated incursions by multi-observed and bona fide UFOs into critical and so restricted airspaces in the Washington area (fact!), orders to shoot down these intruders WERE issued (fact!), furious UFO and Military air activity occurred in and around West Virginia on September 12, 1952 subsequent to these orders of deadly force (fact!), and a heavy, loaded-to-the-gills-battalion of Army infantry led by Colonel Dale Leavitt of boots, boats, and bazookas was dispatched to look for something peculiar in the Flatwoods and Frametown WV area that night, NOT barn owls or cross-dressing space ghosts seen by impressionable hillbilly kids. Fact.

Additionally, and on videotape, Colonel Leavitt told Feschino, "Something was a cover-up."

Closing: a certain frankness is required and sincerely used to tell a perceived ridiculous and seemingly unspeakable story... ...that all the credible evidence says is true.

Heavy sighs all around, eh?  Read on.

...Let's Be Frank...

.
.
.
Frank Feschino lives my friend! Remember him as you pretend you took no sides when he'd disclosed... his tale to us on Errol's show.
.
Invited, he just tells the story. There is no reward or glory, just a smear by those effused with ignorance* that Frank refutes.  It's at this point I have to add: "reward" and "glory" should be had.  Feschino's earned it truth be known, he's hewn a path it has been shown...
.
Not that he'd expected praise; he is dismayed at the "disgrace." See, all he did was sift too well the "well raked dust" of Bluebook's "tell." Too, what was told as data's sieved, and facts appear we can't forgive? Why, a betrayal of the trust which others missed!  It's not discussed!  ...Or, what occurs when trust's abused, and all Frank's work was then misused... to cheaply make the printer's buck, a steaming pile of "published suck"...
.
Hauling data, Frank's returned. Sixteen years his search had churned! Too, he's been busy "prosecuting" all the claims expressed refuting!  Truth be told, it's all worked out... and documented, hope to shout.  Project Bluebook as I said, a trove of treasure as it's read. Then, in print: named journalists describing facts as they exist! Last, "first-persons" make account what they all saw to fly about... together all this paints a picture.  If we but copped, we'd be the richer.
.
Still, dismiss him—and the stars—plus all of ones professed regard to hoeing righteous rows in science! The lack of which tempts pseudoscience.  See, he pinpoints, plots, and notes the time-hacks... ...points where UFOs had made their impact.  He defines an audit trail!  It's the saucer's holy grail!
.
Lo, some were damaged, spitting smoke.  This was reported, not a joke: connected points, established flight-paths... of UFOs.  Now, there's your cold draught!
.
Seems Frank might be, what I sure feel... is the righteous, real deal.  The harbinger of fact portrayed: a truth resembling hand grenades!
.
Too, there's interest from lettered principals most agree are more than sensible. Massive data must sustain more truth per drop than's been maintained by specious words or ill campaigns employed to cant considered brains!
.
Frank's been at this, years, my friend! See, you've the "cant," I would contend. You condemned him without reading, without so much as even reaching! Then locked ranks to shut him out without a thought t'what he's about!
.
Too, all because his book was raped (!) dispatched to an ignoble jape; perverted by an errant press and hacked beyond belief: oppressed!  Ask Don Ledger who contends: that "errant press," too, hacked on him!
.
...Some reactive meme dispatched, to aid "pro-active effort's" crash? Folks who can't see other venues, the "blinkered fools" with jealous "menus," these must have it all their way... or make the rest, then, rue their day!  ...Though, truth is truth and shall not go the way that one might want, you know?
.
Frank has, frankly, done the work where others, frankly, weren't alert! This must help to open doors obstructed by "convention's" force, a force maintaining world views of niggards wishing mundane news!
.
Shoot Them Down is called a hoax and mocked, insulted... made a joke, but now it has deserving edit, a second look provokes its credit! Too! Feschino's story's caught the eye of persons more amazed than I!
.
Though, Frank's accused of a "destruction " a "very silly" contrived "construction "... built to "bring the 'study' down..." already limping and unsound!
.
But that's a crock, the data's there! This has one by the shortest hair. See, it's in the record no one read! If it's a snake, it's bit! You're dead!
.
Condon was a liar, hoss, and what's that fare, friend? What's our loss? What would we be if we weren't slaves... ...and faced our future... acted brave?
.
...Truth is better through my lens... ...facilitates respect, my friend .
.
Too, I... suspect that Frank's sincere, accept his work (oh my... oh dear!), and show that it's not Frank to say... compelling truth! No, that's "Bluebook's" play.
.
See? Over half the data's there. All had missed the "thread," Mon Frère! Likely blinded by Herr Condon... ill perceived "non-truth," the problem.  Dick and Jerry*, primrose "led" to be so hard-nosed, and that said?  Science fiction is far off... but data driven? Those shoes drop!
.
It won't impede the crushing fact that "Shoot Them Down" was "orders," Jack!   We would want a saucer bad, so risk a war with "others"! Mad!
.
Too, it's not like we can't be stupid... addled, brainless… less than lucid, caught within the errant snare that we're "alone," but au contraire! ...
.
Now I don't know what I've found out is truly what it's all about, but I respect what Frank has done... what he's late writ and by the ton! Too, some heavy-weights have waded in? Those who scoffed, prepare your chins!
.
Friedman, Cox, and Porterfield know the data cited's real. Good and Barker make a case, and Maccabee has interest placed. Responsible, one follows data, the rest is bupkis; zero... nada.
.
Think! There is more that has been missed if these men think this might exist.  If I'm wrong, I'll say "mea culpa", double-slap my face like Culkin, apologize in verse and prose... admit that "you" were on the nose.  I don't believe I'm wrong, at all; convictions "soar and cleave"—my call!
.
Just remember out of tact, that good men died and that's a fact, when UFOs traversed the sky and our jets chased them, Frank confides.  We would try to shoot them down, just to have one, how unsound.  "Lurid duels of death," described, precludes denials—as denied—that we would fight an air war, then, with our jet planes and our brave men.  Though that is what, it seems to me, what had occurred, and with ET.
.
Data has direction, friend, conclusions are arrived at when:  the picture "painted" makes all sense, is coming clean on its first rinse, and is not stretched or made contrived—presuming any sense survived—and what remains must fit the facts t'would all admit was such as that.

Three generations of serious UFO researchers just missed it; the biggest flap in United States History, a flap of which we too faintly or even barely heard.  1952s Summer Of Saucers: a plethora of saucers extant and unambiguous orders to... Shoot Them Down.

Three generations of "UFO Hunters" from Keyhoe to Kimball, reader, never recognized the fumbled ufological ball!

Gray Barker, of all people, got close... he knew this was a puzzle with many pieces, but he didn't have Bluebook.

A "special thank you" is extended to Dr Edward Condon, then, the stealth spook and authoritarian obfurator who had Bluebook in toto and blew it off of cowardly needs niggardly, decidedly short sighted, and dangerous. Ignorance always is.  Shame Dr. Condon! Shame!

Ask Stanton Friedman... the generation between Keyhoe and Kimball—presuming I'm forgiven this stretch to alliteration—he'll admit he missed it, I'm betting. But presented to him in the data rich manner in which it is offered?

He, as do some perspicacious others, caught Feschino's train, reader, only Stan shovels coal in the tractor, and officiates at the caboose! Read on.

The Forgotten UFO War And Missing Air Force Airmen Of September 12, 1952

On September 12, 1952, there were 21 hours of sustained UFO activity occurring over the United States of America—an event not paralleled to this very day. Author Frank Feschino, Jr. has ferreted this out: the Nation's biggest ignored story, virtually alone, spending many years researching the aforementioned incident, traveling many thousands of miles on his quest to discover the truth about this forgotten series of events—our nations forgotten war with UFOs.

God, but I know how that sounds... one must risk looking the fool sometimes to follow the evidentiary path, eh?  Right or wrong, at least you had the tubes or sack to look.

The story alluded to above is discovered in a hugely focused and intrepid research effort carried out over many years. Feschino is able to sequence the highly strange facts establishing a precise timeline of events for that dreadful day, a day which shocked countless Americans slack-jawed along the Eastern Seaboard, including the Nation's capitol.  Multitudes are amazed and terrified  as they watch numerous low-flying UFOs descend and crash-land on United States soil!  It's all in Feschino's books.

By gathering together several documented sources including (in order of usefulness) the official Project Blue Book, named news paper articles, and then first-hand witness testimonies, Feschino is able to establish that 25 different UFOs had flown over—or crashed—in 10 eastern states: Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, and North Carolina.

Consequently, Feschino is able to pinpoint, plot and time-stamp 116 locations where these UFO sightings had occurred. Subsequently, he plotted all of the locations on a huge Master map, connected the points and established several definite flight paths of the UFOs testified to.  The breakdown of the various types of unidentified flying craft Feschino is able to establish are as follows:

1). Oval-shaped
2). Round-shaped
3). Round with flat top
4). Cigar-shaped
5). Saucer-shaped
6). Top-shaped

Four of the 25 objects had accounted for 13 crash landings in three states!  These states are documented to be West Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee.  Additionally, there were 8 landing sites where other objects touched down in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio—reported comparatively as operationally sound—seemingly in search of the 4  more obviously damaged and downed objects!  ET Search and rescue, perhaps?

Oh, and reader, I forgot to mention one thing... all of the aforementioned UFO sightings, crashes, and landings actually happened on the same day that the "Flatwoods Monster" incident occurred in Braxton County, West Virginia.  ...See, the damaged flaming Flatwoods craft went down on the Fisher Farm that night amidst this flap of sightings as well as three other damaged craft, which were exploding, had pieces falling from them, engulfed in flames and making repeated crash landings throughout the country!  This was a night of unsurpassed strangeness!

Nonetheless, September 12, 1952 was also "DEFENSE DAY" in this country. You see reader, only six weeks prior to these sightings plaguing this country, the USAF Senior Public Information Officer, Moncel Monts (as mentioned in the previous "Forgotten War" article) had stated, "The jet pilots are, and have been under orders to investigate unidentified objects and to shoot them down if they can't talk them down."

Remembering that "shoot down if they can't talk them down" is for the lawyers—military brass wanted one of the "damned things," and our boys were out there to make that happen—it is sad, if almost comical, and the height of official obfuscation and disingenuousness that all of these September 12th 1952 sightings provoked were attributed to a single "fireball meteor, flying over Washington, D.C. that night at a very low-level." The same alleged meteor, reader, also zig-zaged to fly west another 200 plus miles for its crash-landing on the Fisher farm in Flatwoods!  Meteors can take an astonishing amount of control over themselves in 1952... ...even land and take off again...

...But wait, there is another not well-known incident also occurring that dreadful night amidst this flap of September 12, 1952 and its numerous UFO sightings. This incident—another very well covered-up occurrence involving a USAF F-94 Starfire jet fighter—details that same jet vanishing into thin air while being tracked by several military radars!

Pilot 2Lt Jones

Documented, the 2-man crew of this Air Force jet was actually in voice communication with TWO major Air Force bases... when it simply disappeared for no apparent reason after allegedly flaming-out! Now, for the record, the last approximate location of the jet was actually known, and one of the Air Force radars tracking the jet was one of the biggest and best that the Air Force had at that time!  It was nicknamed, "HOMER."

Despite a massive "air sea rescue" operation, which went "Immediately" into motion after the Starfire jet vanished and covered "over 46,000 square miles"—according to the Air Force—the plane was never found. Unexplainably, the pilots failed to eject from their aircraft and additionally, not one piece of wreckage of the jet was ever found. To this day—and along with their jet—the two airmen, pilot 2nd Lt. John A. Jones, Jr. of Florida and Radar Operator 2nd Lt. John DelCurto of Oregon... ...are still MISSING.

Feschino spent well over a decade and countless hours researching this incident.  He obtained official Air Force documents, the Aircraft Accident Report, news paper articles, talked to the brothers of the two missing pilots and also obtained the Jones' personal documents from the Air Force as well.

After sifting and sorting through mountains of  what would prove to be a convoluted paper morass, Feschino found layers upon layers—upon layers—of covered-up evidence, countless lies and obfuscations, edited reports, fabricated information bits, and a bloated conspiracy to dispose of the truth regarding this incident!  He explains all this in explicit detail in his books. ...And yes, Feschino believes the incident was directly related to the "Shoot them down" orders, issued against flying saucers by the United States Air Force, remember. That Harry Truman had to have ordered all this puts another fine point on the tragedy.

Consider reader, the summer of 1952 hosted the biggest flap of UFO close encounters in United States history!  Fresh on the heels of this are orders to the Military to shoot those UFOs down!  Jones and DelCurto go missing in their state of the art all-weather Starfire Jet on a night with over 20 hours of sustained UFO activity over a plethora of states.  Connecting these dots is not remotely unreasonable and no stretch at all!

Feschino is quoted as saying, "Whoever concocted the explanations given about the 'Flatwoods Monster' incident, probably wrote the script for the Jones and DelCurto story, too."

Additionally—and chillingly—there are two missing reports in the September 12, 1952 case file of Major Aircraft Accidents!  These are inexplicably removed from the eleven cases of documented accidents for that day, cases: "52-9-12-3" and "52-9-12-5."   3 and 5...

Where do aircraft accident documents and files have to go on the night of 21 hours plus of sustained UFO close encounters and where other aircraft are logged in as disappearing without a trace?  Stanton Friedman writes, "Surely, what has been found so far is just the tip of the iceberg of attempted military intercepts of UFOs and intercepts of our planes by UFOs."

Friedman adds, "Frank Feschino, Jr. has done an incredible job of collecting, arranging and chronicling data about the UFO events that took place during the summer of 1952...Most importantly, Frank's persistence in researching the overwhelming amount of mysterious fighter jet accidents that occurred in 1952 and through the 1950s is very revealing...if not startling."  Fine point, reader, on that!

In closing, Frank has given me permission to reprint the following WESTERN UNION telegram sent to the brother of the missing pilot from the head of the Air Defense Command, General Chidlaw—we remember Chidlaw's statement made to Mr. Gardner from my previous article regarding the loss of man and machine. The telegram states:

ADAAD-4 56 345. It is with deep regret that I officially inform you that on 22 October 1952, the Chief of Staff, Headquarters United States Air Force notified this command that your brother John A. Jones, Jr. was declared dead. The body was not recovered, however after the extensive search by the Air Force it was determined that conclusive evidence existed to warrant this action. Please accept my sincere sympathy in your bereavement.
General Benjamin W. Chidlaw Commanding General
Air Defense Command ENT Air Force Base Colorado Springs Col=

The extreme irony?  Later on the Air Force and its parent Nation would find it convenient to pretend these two brave officers did not even exist!

Less than 2 weeks after Jones and DelCurto vanished with their jet, a CIA memorandum dated September 24, 1952 was written on the UFO subject.  It read, "SUBJECT: FLYING SAUCERS." This memo was sent from "H. Marshall Chadwell—Asst. director of Scientific Intelligence" to "Walter Bedell Smith—Deputy Director  of Intelligence."

In part, this revealing memo stated, "A worldwide reporting system has been instituted and major Air Force bases have been ordered to make interceptions of unidentified flying objects."

Then, in December of 1952, TRUE Magazine printed an article written by pioneer UFO researcher, Major Donald Keyhoe, USMC retired.  Keyhoe made the following statements in "What Radar Tells About Flying Saucers," and wrote, "More than 300 times, Air Force interceptor planes have chased mysterious lights and unidentified objects revealed on radarscopes." He also stated, "Week after week, jet fighters are 'scrambled' at points around the country for 'saucer chases.'" Keyhoe then adds, "Unless an object attacks our planes, or is a threat to this country, the decision is left up to our pilots."

In his closing, Keyhoe stated the following. "'Even if they weren't hostile' another officer told me, 'barging in too close might scare them into attacking.'" Many years later, in 2005, Stanton Friedman stated, "So much for the notion that UFOs are not a threat to National Security. In other words, the notion that UFOs demolishing or disintegrating planes doesn't seem strange, at all—if our planes were attacking them."

What, who, where, what, and WHY, reader?  Where one follows the evidentiary path that path can become highly strange indeed.

Read on.

Forgotten War

On Memorial Day of any year we remember the countless brave Americans who died for their country in war. Memorial Day, originally called "Decoration Day,"  was borne out of the Civil War on a desire to honor our fallen heroes. This federal holiday commemorates the many men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces and remembers their sacrifice.

Memorial Day is celebrated on the last Monday in May at Arlington National Cemetery with a ceremony and a small American flag placed on each grave. Traditionally, a wreath is placed at the site of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by the President or Vice President of the United States.

Since the Civil War, this country has been involved in many conflicts including the Spanish-American War, two world wars, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the plethora of bloody wars in the Mideast.  War persists today, of course, as these keys are tapped.

Our American history books and teachers inform us assiduously regarding these many wars, most of which occurred around the world since the first "Decoration Day."  One war is decidedly forgotten and not even mentioned.  As a Nation we patently fail to "even mention" a war that existed right here over the United States of America.  That war, an undeclared war—a war true as unbelievable as that does sound—was waged by the United States government against UFOs in the late 1940's and early 1950's.

This writer intimates no apology remembering that J. B. S. Haldane informs us that the existential is stranger than we can imagine!  I'm a former Master Army Aviator and a Veteran of Air Combat. I have some small appreciation of air war, battles and the conflict conducted within it.  Let me attempt to explain what occurred over the United States during that era incorporating the infamous Summer Of Saucers more than 60 years ago.

On July 29, 1952, The Seattle Post Intelligencer reported a news story from the INS/International News Service: it published, "Air Force Orders Jet Pilots to Shoot Down Flying Saucers If They Refuse To Land."  There is little wiggle-room there, the reader might agree, regarding the belief that UFOs were considered REAL in the corporeal...

The article continued, "Lt. Col. Moncel Monts, Information Officer, stated: 'The jet pilots are, and have been under orders to investigate unidentified objects and to shoot them down if they can't talk them down." The article further informed, "In Air Force parlance, this means that if a 'flying saucer' refuses to land—jet pilots are authorized to shoot them to Earth if they can get close enough to do so."

The Charleston Gazette reported the following on July 29, 1952. Its headline read, "Pilots Ordered to Shoot Down 'Saucers' in Range"!  It said in part, "WASHINGTON, July 28 - (INS) - The Air Force disclosed today that jet pilots are under orders to maintain a nationwide 24-hour 'alert' against 'flying saucers' and to shoot them down if possible...jet pilots are under standing orders to pursue all unidentified flying objects, especially on the eastern seaboard and if necessary, force them to land. The alert is applicable to flying saucers."  How, reader, is this not a prosecuted air war against a perceived ET?

Additionally, on July 29, 1952, the Fall River News newspaper of  Massachusetts reported, "Jets Told to Shoot Down Flying Discs," and continued, "Several pilots according to the Air Force have tried to shoot down the mysterious discs, but the 'steady bright lights' in the sky have out-flown the pilots." Indeed, this statement clearly shows that the objects had indeed refused to land, which would prompt our pilots to shoot down UFOs as ordered.  Attempts were logically made, then, by Air Force pilots!

The very next day, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported, "Radar Spots 'Saucers' Over Washington Again." In reference to the well-known July 29 saucer press conference held at the Pentagon, the article stated, "Major Gen. Roger Ramey, Deputy Chief of the Air Force Staff for Operations, told the news conference that interceptor planes have raced aloft several hundred times as a result of reported sightings of unidentified objects.  He said that was just standard procedure." The reader will remember that most of these confrontations between planes and UFOs are well-known and many are also recorded as "Unknowns" in Project Blue Book, the USAF initiative in charge of the UFO project.

True enough, UFOs are not necessarily "Flying Saucers."  ...But how many of the "several hundred unknowns" our pilots flew after and to which General Ramey referred must be that UFO regarded as a flying saucers to qualify as same, reader?  The answer is only one.  The reader can be assured there is more than one...

This leads us to a not well known statement made by Captain Edward J. Ruppelt, the head of Project Blue Book in 1952.  In his 1956 text, The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects, and commenting on the deaths of military aviators chasing UFOs, legitimate or no, Ruppelt states, "Other assorted historians point out that normally the 'UFOs' are peaceful, and [fighter pilots] Gorman and Mantell just got too inquisitive, 'they just weren't ready to be observed closely.' If the Air Force hadn't slapped down the security lid these writers might not have reached this conclusion. There have been other and more lurid 'duels of death.'"

Wait, what? Here, Captain Ruppelt clearly, if stealthily, writes about the Air Force cover-up of the "duels of death" occurring between American fighter pilots and UFOs!  What does "Lurid Duels Of Death" refer to, otherwise?

Additionally, in February of 1953, Robert Gardner, a California investigator and writer, conducted an interview with General Chidlaw, head of the Air Defense Command about National Security points of the Eastern ADC. During that 30 minute interview, Gardner recorded the following statement made by General Chidlaw, "We have stacks of reports about flying saucers. We take them seriously when you consider we have lost many men and planes trying to intercept them."

Yes reader, there was an undeclared war between Our American fighter pilots and UFOs! These seem to have led to many pilot deaths, deaths not recorded in our history books or told to us by our mainstream educators!

Author and researcher Frank Feschino, Jr. writes exhaustively about the history of this tremendous cover-up in his book, Shoot Them Down—The Flying Saucer Air Wars of 1952."  Additionally, the history of these incredible events can also be seen in Feschino's documentary short, "The Braxton County Monster/Flatwoods Monster: book by Feschino" posted on You Tube.

In closing on this most recent Memorial day remembrance, I recall the many fighter airmen who seem to have perished during intercept attempts against UFOs throughout the years and pay my profoundly moved respects to them... Some of us remember, while most of us simply choose to forget.  I choose to remember it exactly as Feschino has dedicated in his book, to those impossible intrepid and exceedingly brave American fighter pilots who scrambled into angry skies after UFOs to... "shoot them down"... and never returned home.

Frank C. Feschino's recent book, Shoot Them Down! The Flying Saucer Air Wars Of 1952 - based largely on official documentation - makes for disturbing reading.
Also, the numerous unexplained crashes and disappearances worldwide in the 1940s (described in Need to Know) reinforce my conviction that, worldwide, we have lost probably thousands of aircraft and pilots, in mysterious circumstances, over the years.

Did Missing Malaysia Jet Encounter A UFO?

Did Missing Malaysia Jet Encounter A UFO?

I have been talking with Frank Feschino, Jr. over the past few days about the missing Malaysian passenger plane. To refresh the reader, this is the Boeing 777-200, Flight MH370 vanishing off the coast of Malaysia on March 8, 2014. This is a very big jet with a huge reputation for safety. ...Gone without a trace...

In steps, Feschino is a researcher and author of the UFO/military history books, Shoot Them Down — The Flying Saucer Air Wars of 1952 and The Braxton County Monster-Updated and Revised Edition. He is by no means a stranger to researching missing planes and pilots, military aircraft accidents, UFOs and government cover-ups.

Jones and DelCurto

Feschino's primary case study, a case involving a missing USAF F-94 jet and 2-man crew—simply vanished into thin air, like the 777, while being tracked by several Air Force radars on September 12, 1952! Frank spent several years investigating this documented, but convoluted and mysterious, incident. He then reconstructed and recreated a precise scenario of events for this unexplained mystery entirely resurrecting the memory of forgotten pilots involved in the mishap!

From Jones Headstone...
It follows that after talking with Frank the past week I came to realize that he had some very interesting points to raise concerning this missing Malaysian jet above.  I've worked with Frank over many years, done several radio shows with him as well as a History Channel TV program.  I must allow that he is in no way scared to talk about controversial topics or give his point of view, a view with a lot of non-stretched external support. Verily, the constant reader understands neither one of us is afraid to speak our minds.

Additionally, and still on task, my being a retired veteran Army Officer and former Master Army Aviator provides that I can relate to Feschino's work handily. His work is very compelling... involving, as it does, the many missing airmen and planes and crashes that he researches, investigates, and writes about.  Frank's a tall order, and not just in person.

That comes personal. Feschino seems uniquely positioned to provide an insight on the highly strange, and do it in a manner respectful of the sensibilities of the hundreds of worried persons involved with the mystery above. The loss of life, if that's what it is, is huge.

As the days go by, the location of this Malaysian airliner is still unknown, and the mystery deepens. There has been no official explanation as to what actually occurred on that day... only speculation. The mercurial list of explanations as to what could have occurred to that Malaysian jumbo jet keeps getting longer and longer, and there are more hypotheses coming out than, at which, you could shake the proverbial stick!

Did the 777 airliner suffer a severe malfunction and explode in mid-air? Was it pilot error causing the jet to crash into the sea... or did it crash undetected into a remote jungle in Viet Nam? Was the jet hijacked by terrorists and taken to an isolated area or was it taken over by a crazed passenger who forcibly gained entry into the cockpit - subsequently crashing the plane? Did one of the pilots take over the jet and crash it or fly it to an undisclosed location? Another scenario; was the jet shot down by a hostile force or—did the plane explode, lose cabin pressure and render the pilots unconscious, causing the jet to continue on pilot-less on an unguided path to an unknown area and fate?  No one knows or is willing to say.

In other words, as theories run rampant throughout the world media, no one actually knows what happened on that early morning of March 8, 2014. But wait...on the other hand though, I ask, are there certain individuals in high political and military positions, who actually know the true story about the missing jet and are keeping a lid on the story? Did something so horrendous occur, that the powers to be, actually chose to keep the truth from the public?  It's not like it doesn't happen, eh?

While the world wonders what really happened to Flight MH370 and the 239 people on board, we'll explore some other possible explanations later on, but now, a brief synopsis of the missing passenger plane incident just to nail down what can be nailed down.

This plane, a Boeing 777-200 jet, departed from Kuala-Lumpar, Malaysia at 12:21 a.m. [1421 GMT Friday] and was scheduled to arrive at it's destination, Beijing, China at 6:30 am. [2230 GMTFriday]. The jet, which was carrying 239 people (227 passengers and 12 crew), had dropped off civilian radar about one hour into it's flight at an altitude of 35,000 feet. According to officials it disappeared without transmitting a distress signal.

Now, the details of the jet's flight path indicates it departed, Kuala-Lumpar, traveled northeast over Malaysia, passed over the eastern coastline and out over an area of water where the Gulf of Thailand is located to the west and the South China Sea to the north and east. The plane's projected northeast flight path would have next taken it over Vietnam and an area of Cambodia enroute toChina, but the plane never reached the southern coast of Vietnam.

Air Traffic Control officials reported the last contact with Flight MH370. This report indicated it was over water approximately 120 nautical miles east of Kota Bharu, Malaysia. Various media reports contradict the exact time that the jet dropped off civilian radar over water, but it was approximately one hour and ten minutes into its flight at about 1:30 a.m.

Now, if the reader has been following this story closely, they must have noticed the inconsistencies of the many contradicting reports made. These inconsistent reports involved some of the events and time-stamps contained within this missing jet incident taken as a whole. Was this reckless reporting by the Malaysian officials or was it done purposely to confuse the events and timeline of the actual story? Additional information had also stated, "Vietnamese Civil Aviation Authority claimed the pilots of the plane did not check in at it's scheduled time of 17:21 GMT."

Next, whether the plane changed direction and redirected southwest while being tracked by military radars at Butterworth, Malaysia is now a conflicted point. Malaysian officials have been changing their official statements with the position of the sun in the sky. Early reports said the plane may have redirected southwest, then updated reports said the northeast bound jet did redirect southwest, but passed over Thailand, flew over Malaysia and then over the Strait of Malacca. The jet reportedly had descended 3,280 feet in altitude and was detected by Butterworth military radars at 2:40 a.m. above the region of the tiny island of Pulau Perak to the west of Malaysia.

Now, more official reports from Malaysian officials contradict the redirecting scenario of the jet with additional information lately being revealed... information only adding to the mystery! On early Thursday, March 14, 2014, an article titled, "China satellite finds 'suspected crash site' in Malaysia jet hunt," reveals this new information. It states:
Beijing (AFP)...Malaysian air force chief General Rodzali attempted to explain why the search zone had been expanded, telling a press conference that military radar detected an unidentified object early Saturday north of the Malacca Strait off the Malaysian coast. He said that reading, taken less than an hour after the plane lost contact over the South China Sea, was still being investigated and they were not able to confirm it was MH370.

Now hold the phone reader—this statement by General Rodzali confusingly reveals the radar target tracked by the Malaysian Air Force was actually, "an unidentified object." Why was this point not brought up to the press when the story first broke and the search for the jet initially began.

Again reader, why so many contradictions and inconsistencies within the events of this missing commercial aircraft? Was the public intentionally misled because "an unidentified object" was involved in the incident?

Walking and quacking like a full-on duck, there begs to have been a cover-up in the making from the onset of this incident! The article also stated that a Chinese satellite had detected debris images of "objects in a 'suspected crash sea area' in the South China Sea," according to the Chinese State Science and Technology Administration.

Contrarily; however, a follow-up article then discloses that the objects sighted in the alleged, "suspected crash sea area," could not be found at all. The article, "Malaysia: No debris at spot shown in China images," states, "KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - (AP) Planes sent Thursday to check the spot where Chinese satellite images found nothing, a Malaysia civilian chief said." A guy could get whiplash in the reportage...

Another Thursday article reported the following information. The headline reads, Malaysia widens search for missing plane," and states,

"KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - (AP) Malaysian authorities expanded their search for the missing jetliner into the Andaman Sea and beyond on Thursday after saying it could have flown for several hours after it lost contact with the ground." The article once again talks about "an unidentified object" and states, "Malaysia's air force chief said Wednesday that an unidentified object appeared on military radar records about 200 miles (320 kilometers) northwest of Panag, Malaysia, and experts are analyzing the data in an attempt to determine whether the blip is the missing plane."

The article also states, "Investigators have not ruled out any possible cause for the disappearance of the plane." How do you just throw up your hands about a missing Jumbo Jet?

At this point, the fate of the Malaysian jet is still unknown. Several countries are participating in a massive search and rescue effort as several planes, boats, ships and helicopters are scouring numerous regions for the missing jet, a jet simply vanishing into thin air. As of this writing, the jet, nor any wreckage, or bodies have been found! This is even after an expansion of the original searched territory area.

Let's change some gears! In order to understand what may be going on today ...let's review the past. In many cases, we can learn—and also learn lessons from our history!

See, throughout aviation history, military pilots, including transport and fighter pilots as well as commercial pilots, have reported UFOs and encounters with UFOs from all parts of the globe. There is the famed July 14, 1952, Nash-Fortenberry Pan American incident, where those pilots saw and encountered UFOs over Virginia.  On February 24, 1959, the famous Killian incident occurred when an American Airlines passenger plane encountered several UFOs enroute to Detroit.  Captain Peter W. Killian's plane was paced and approached by several UFOs, which were also seen and reported by other nearby passenger planes. Then there is the classic 1953 Kinross AFB case where an F-89C Scorpion jet (lately in the news) vanished during a UFO intercept attempt over Lake Superior! Yes, reader, there are the numerous fighter pilots who pursued UFOs throughout the world—and still do—to protect their Countries. Moreover, these unidentified flying objects have been well documented in history by the brave human beings trammeling those hallowed halls of air.

Project Blue Book, the Air Force intelligence group investigating and evaluating UFO sightings from 1951 until 1969, is loaded with many reports and "unexplained" evaluations involving pilot UFO encounters. Even the late Project Blue Book Chief, Captain Edward Ruppelt observed the following in his 1956 book, The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects:

Other assorted historians point out that normally 'UFOs' are peaceful, [fighter pilots] Gorman and Mantell just got too inquisitive, they just weren't ready to be observed closely. If the Air Force hadn't slapped down the security lid these writers might not have reached this conclusion. There have been other and more lurid "duels of death."

Read that again—"Lurid duels of death," reader—lurid duels of death.

This statement about UFOs was straight from the Chief of Project Blue Book himself, Captain Edward J. Ruppelt. Also note how he mentions the, "security lid" being "slapped down" by the USAF!  However; reader, it is still readily known that planes and UFOs have shared the skies with us for years and many strange things have happened as a result of our crossing their star-crossed path. One is compelled to ask: how many of those planes vanished during UFO encounters, including confrontations—be it by accidental encounters or intentional attempted intercepts?

In the First Edition of his 1955 book, The Flying Saucer Conspiracy, pioneer UFO researcher, author and former aide to Charles Lindbergh, Major Donald Keyhoe, USMC Retired, writes a chapter titled, "The Vanishing Planes." Here, he studies the disappearance of the famous incident that involved five TBM Avengers aircraft vanishing off the Florida coast on December 5, 1945 ...and the Martin Mariner search plane that subsequently vanished while looking for them!

During this era, folks, Major Keyhoe, a close friend of Charles Lindbergh, remember, was very well connected throughout both military and civilian aviation circles. Indeed Donald Keyhoe had friends in many high places, including top connections in the Pentagon. He was privy to many inside UFO reports that most would never see.

Yes, Keyhoe was on top of the UFO phenomenon and made everyone around him aware that he was, a true pioneer in the field. Additionally, in this regarded chapter from above, Mr. Keyhoe and an "aeronautical engineer," named Mr. Paul Redell, who first met Keyhoe around 1949, discussed some hypothetical theories involving the five TBM planes and the Mariner that vanished in 1945.  In concert with the Malaysian jet disappearance, the two men talked about the lack of any plane wreckage and how none of the crews were found, dead or alive... ...just vanished!

Donald Keyhoe stated the following about his conversation with Paul Redell:
"Those planes must have been completely destroyed," to which Redell replied, "Unless the saucers took them...If that theory is correct, an electromagnetic beam could have thrown off the compasses and also silenced the radios. The same could have happened to the Mariner."
Keyhoe responded and the following transpired:
"But to make off with all those planes!" I said. The saucer would have to be enormous."
"Well, we've had proof they use gigantic mother ships," Redell responded.

"In that Gulf of Mexico case, the one-inch blip on the scope shows the mother ship was over 1,000 feet long - probably nearer 1500 feet. Also, there may have been more than one saucer in theFlorida case. Again, I'm just temporarily assuming the capture explanation."
"It's still unbelievable," Keyhoe muttered. "I sat there, my mind half-numbed by the picture Redell had painted. Redell gave me a serious glance."
"If it's true—and I've been fighting the idea the way you're doing now—it might explain the Navy Super-Constellation's disappearance over the Atlantic in October of '54. You probably saw the story; there were 42 people aboard, some of them Navy wives and their children."
"Yes, I looked into that," I said. It occurred to me that it might have been destroyed by a saucer. It happened soon after those UFOs were flying over Virginia."

The back story here, reader, involves a Super-Constellation plane, R7V-1, in Navy service, which vanished without a trace on October 4, 1954. This plane departed Patuxent River NAS, Md. and was bound for Azores, Portugal when it vanished 350 miles from the US coast over the Atlantic Ocean with 42 Navy persons aboard. Keyhoe then writes:

"The Navy Constellation vanished exactly like the six planes from Fort Lauderdale. Radio silence - even though they had two transmitters. Not a trace of wreckage or bodies, though hundreds of planes and ships searched for days."

"I got one statement from Commander Andy Bright, head of the Navy's Aviation Section. He said they could offer no explanation."

Redell spread his hands, "They certainly wouldn't make this answer public."

"No, even if it was true. And there may be some strange explanation we haven't considered. But I believe this accounts for the blackout—even if the censors don't have the complete answer."
"Yes, you can see why they'd fight to keep it secret."

In this book, Mr. Keyhoe also reveals an incident that occurred on November 21, 1954.  A Brazilian passenger plane bound for Rio de Janeiro was cruising in the dark at 8,000 feet over the Paraiba River and was approached by several UFOs. Keyhoe states there were, "19 round machines, each more than 100 feet in diameter." It was reported by the pilot, "The saucers were flashing past and underneath my wings." During this encounter, the passengers became frantic as the UFOs flew near the plane, many of them at close range. Keyhoe also stated, "For two or three minutes, the cabin was a madhouse."

Mr. Keyhoe also reports an incident involving an American Airlines passenger plane, flying near Conowingo Dam, MD enroute to Washington, D.C. During this episode, the pilot, a Captain J.L Kidd, encountered a large UFO in 1953.  Donald Keyhoe states, "The unknown machine was coming swiftly toward them on a collision course. Instantly Captain Kidd shoved the controls forward." To avoid the UFO, the pilot had to dive his plane to avoid a collision with it. Mr. Keyhoe stated,

"The mysterious craft streaked overhead and vanished...the unknown craft had been a huge machine." This unexpected dive had thrown some passengers into the aisle and the pilot quickly radioed Washington Airport for doctors and ambulances. Keyhoe also explains, "Immediately the CAA made a check of every scheduled airliner and other cruising aircraft within 100 miles of Conowingo Dam. But not one had been near the DC-6."

Folks, the UFO encounters with aircraft throughout recorded aviation history is absolutely staggering where most of the general public are entirely unaware of that fact! Here is another incident not widely known written by Harold T. Wilkins, author of the 1954 book, Flying Saucers on the Attack. Mr. Wilkins reported the following mysterious incident involving a British jet. He writes:

May 2, 1953: A British Comet (jet) air-liner met a mysterious disaster, immediately after it had taken off from an airdrome at Calcutta. Its speed was 500 miles an hour. Suddenly, it caught fire in the air, disintegrated, and crashed, the wreckage being strewn over an area of 5-1/2 miles. An investigator from the British ministry of Civil Aviation, Mr. J. H. Lett, said that lighting had not struck the Comet, nor had it come into collision with another plane, nor was there the slightest evidence of faulty materials, or bad workmanship. BUT HE FOUND THAT IT BROKE UP IN THE AIR, AFTER STRIKING SOME HEAVY AND UNKNOWN BODY!

Wilkins states, "Apart from any actual collision, what was this heavy and unknown body? He adds, "Who, I must be forgiven for asking again, knows, or can, at this time know?"

Do any of these plane stories from the past have anything to do with the mysterious circumstances that are still going on today? Now, fast forward to the current situation involving the missing Malaysian commercial jet Flight MH370. Interestingly enough, there are some contemporary UFO events occurring near this part of the world where our Malaysian jet, MH370 went missing.

I caution the reader that Frank and I are not here to judge the authenticity of these UFO incidents and videos, but are pointing them out to you, the reader—just to be aware. Does history repeat itself? Take a close look at these documented UFO incidents over the past few years! Judge for yourself if they are real, as well as the possibility that the Malaysian jet just may have encountered a UFO during its last flight.

It is obvious that Major Keyhoe and many of the associates within his group absolutely knew about the UFO and plane encounters occurring back in the 1940s and 1950s. Now, I ask you, did these encounters and events ever stop?

In Keyhoe's 1955 book, The Flying Saucer Conspiracy, the publisher's jacket statement reads,
"Major Keyhoe believes that this policy of censorship is sponsored by only a few individuals; men whose motive is to protect the public from possible hysteria. But he finds this censorship inimical to the Democratic way of life: man has a chance to act wisely only if informed of all of the facts. It is the policy of silence—not the 'silence group'—which Major Keyhoe deplores."

1). In 2007, a group of maneuvering UFOs was captured on video by civilians as they flew over the city of Hanoi in northern Vietnam. This video appears on youtube and is titled, "UFO Fleet,Vietnam" by Supernatural Aliens and was published on Feb. 22, 2014.

2). In May of 2008, a Reuters news story was released about a UFO that exploded off the east coast of southern Vietnam near Cambodia. This incident occurred six miles off the west coast of Vietnam near the Cambodian border in the vicinity of the island—Phu Quoc. Debris was confiscated from the debris field below the explosion. The explosion was said to be have occurred about five miles above the ground. A most interesting observation about this mysterious incident is the point that it actually occurred just north of the vicinity where Malaysian Flight MH370 passed out over the water from the Malaysian coast just before contact was lost! The article is titled: "Vietnam reports 'UFO' explosion...HANOI (Reuters)."

3). The most recent sighting with video footage occurred over the South China Sea in 2013. The publisher of the video, which was posted on YouTube, informs us that the video was taped from a commercial China Airlines plane during a night flight at an altitude of 40,000 feet. The UFO sighting was said to be taped on August 2, 2013 and published on August 10, 2013. This YouTube video is titled, "New UFO Sightings Video 2013" by Beelieve

Again, no veracity is ascribed by Feschino or myself for the referenced video, but taken together the happenstance is compelling.

Closing, Frank's asked me to reiterate a concern for the sensibilities of family members in this unspeakable potential tragedy, sensibilities affected by terrible losses to family and friends...

Remains... ...affairs adjudged above involve the highly, highly strange, affairs understandably if not acceptably trumping the fact of anyone associated with that sad jet aircraft. This would include, as a demonstration of sincerity, the non-cavalier involvement of my own family with that sad jet aircraft, eh? Involvement with a UFO, a UFO entirely without regard to provenance of same howsoever that is determined to be... ...changes everything. The reader knows that's true.
